Nissan Sentra, the Affordable Family Car

The new changes that were implemented on the Nissan Sentra 2016 have largely remained unchanged in 2017. Something to take note of is the premium technology package available on SR and SL trims. The thick window glass maintains a serene interior with the center console changed to give more storage space. The Sentra has two models, the Sentra SR Turbo and the Sentra NISMO.

Fuel Efficiency

The Nissan Sentra in Santa Ana has 130 horsepower, 1.8 liters and a 4 cylinder engine that has been equipped with a timing valve to match the Xtronic CVT transmission. With this kind of setup, one experiences both efficiency and performance. The idea behind this construction is fuel economy.

Exterior Design

The shape of the car is well designed to increase fuel efficiency while at the same time maintaining the real definition of a sedan. The rear spoiler and cosmetic changes such as fascia, striping and low sills add to its aerodynamics.

Interior Design

The soft touch panel and the easy feel that has been defined inside gives drivers luxuries accentuated by a wood finish and perforated leather. All this adds value to your personal space.

Nissan Connect

This smart technology has also been implemented on the Nissan Sentra to offer assistance at the press of a button. There is a seamless connection with the smartphone and the Sentra inbuilt touch screen. Several apps that ensure seamless connection while driving can be ignored.

The Build

The Nissan Sentra is available in four trims that include S, SL, SV, and SR. The car is powered by a 1.8 liter and 124 horsepower with a 125 lb-ft torque. The base model has a six-speed manual transmission or an Xtronic CVT and the other trims have the CVT standard. The two models, SR Turbo and NISMO have a turbocharger and an intercooler engine with the capacity of 1.6 liters 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft torque matched with either a six-speed automatic or manual CVT transmission.

Suspension

The SR Turbo models are suspended on 1.7-inch wheels with suspension tuning supported by stiff front springs and rear dampers. The power steering features a large steering motor that can be fine-tuned. The 2017 model has upgraded front brakes and revised under steer control system.

Safety

It has been rated as one of the safest cars in 2017 and beyond. The ratings are pegged on its superior front crash prevention and the forward emergency braking to avoid a collision, which reduces impact by at least 10 Mph.

The Sentra may have the least powerful and efficient engine compared to its peers who cannot rival its safety and interior features.  Picking a choice of either SR Turbo or NISMO will give twice more power that is available on any standard engine.
